Covenant Health Celebrates EMS Week

LUBBOCK, TX- Covenant Health wants to recognize and thank our local first responders for
their service to our community.
May 21-27 is National EMS Week and Wednesday, May 24 is National EMS-Children (EMS-C)
Day. The EMS-C program’s goal is to ensure all children, no matter where they live, attend
school, or travel, receive the highest quality emergency care possible.
This week, Covenant Children’s & Covenant Medical Center will be thanking our local first
responders with breakfast and lunch. First responders can join us for breakfast burritos from
8:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22 nd at the Covenant Medical Center EMS Bay and for
sausage wraps for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 th at the
Covenant Children’s kite entrance. These events are sponsored by Covenant Health,
AeroCare, and United Supermarkets.
There are more than 1,400 first responders in Lubbock and the 22 surrounding counties. First
responders include paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and law enforcement agents like police
officers.
The medical professionals at Covenant Health work hand-in-hand with our local first
responders to provide the most efficient and best quality care to those in our community. We
couldn’t do our job without them.
