LISD participated in the early literacy campaign “Read for the Record”, which looks to get more than 2 million school children reading the same book at the same time. This year the books for ABC were donated by Levelland’s Rotary Club so all LISD educators could be reading at the same time. Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon is a book that fosters language & social-emotional development. ABC Principal Ashley Howard started off the book, leaving the various LISD teachers to finish up with students and engage them in tie-in activities.
