Keep Levelland Beautiful Awarded Apache Tree Grant

Keep Levelland Beautiful has received a grant from Apache Corporation in the form of 100 five-gallon trees for an estimated value of $2360. KLB has partnered with the City of Levelland for tree planting, which will take start at 2:30 on Texas Arbor Day November 5th. There will be representatives from Apache, KLB, City Council and Parks Department present to commemorate the occasion. These trees are to start in the City’s Tree Farm located at 1901 McKinley St. to ensure they grow to a healthier state before being planted permanently in Levelland’s parks. This tree grant, launched in 2005 has donated more than 4.8 million trees to date to a wide variety of organizations, and Apache Corporation employees often donate their own time to assist community partners in the planting of said trees. In 2021 the program donated 55K trees to non profits, including Texas Parks and Wildlife.
