COVID-19 Cases Continue to Decrease in Hockley County

It was good news for Hockley County on Wednesday when the Texas Department of State Health Services released the updated COVID-19 report.

The new report showed 4 new cases of COVID-19 along with 1 new probable case and 74 new recoveries. Based on the new information, there are 2,051 total cases of COVID-19 with 267 probable cases, 98 deaths and 2,216 recoveries leaving only 4 active cases in Hockley County. This is the lowest number of active cases in Hockley County since late spring of 2020.

The hospitalization rate for Trauma Service Area B which Hockley County is a part of continues to decline, sitting at 4.94%.

The Texas Department of Health Services has also released vaccination numbers. As of Wednesday, 3,007 Hockley County residents have received their first round of the vaccine and 1,144 residents have received both of their vaccines.
