Levelland police were dispatched to the 1000 Block of South Alamo to an apartment for a disturbance between a mother and daughter on Monday night.
When officers arrived on the scene they observed the mother standing in the doorway of a bedroom arguing with the daughter. Officers separated the two individuals and detained the daughter for investigation.
During questioning the mother reported that her daughter had been in her room without permission. When questioned about it, the daughter ran to her own room and started going through a backpack, pulling out a cell phone. The mother tried to get the phone back from the juvenile, however, the juvenile then began hitting and kicking her mother.
Following the field investigation, police arrested the juvenile on a charge of Assault Family Violency. A Juvenile Probation Officer was contacted to process the case, the Juvenile Officer said the juvenile would not be accepted, stating that due to COVID they are only accepting felony cases. The mother and daughter was separated for the night for safety, the juveniles step dad picked the juvenile up and took her to his home for the night. Officers did contact Child Protective Services due to the nature of the call and a juvenile being involved.
