Texas Department of Health Releases COVID-19 Information From Weekend

The Texas Department of State Health Services has released information on new COVID-19 numbers for Hockley County.

Over the weekend, there were 14 new cases of COVID-19 from Saturday and Sunday with no new probable cases and no new deaths, there were 20 new recoveries. The hospitalization rate for Trauma Service Area B, which Hockley County is a part of continues a slow decline, setting at 15.65% as of Sunday.

Based on the new information there are 1,865 total cases of COVID-19 in Hockley County with 216 probable cases, 94 deaths, leaving 95 active cases.

The Health Department has also started updating the number of vaccines administered to Hockley County residents. As of Monday, there have been 864 first round vaccines administered and 119 second round vaccines have been administered.
