Following an emergency meeting of the Olton ISD Board of Trustees, the vote was 7-0 to close all Olton ISD Campuses until at least Wednesday, October 14th due to a rash of COVID-19 related absences throughout the district.
Secondary students will move to asynchronous learning online Thursday and Friday and Elementary School students will receive paper assignments for Thursday and Friday. In a statement issued by the school district on their Facebook page, elementary students will pick up assignments from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday in the following manner. Pre-K and Kindergarten will pick up in the north carpool line, First grade will pick up in the Web front door area, Second and Third grade will pick up at the Web sign on the Southeast corner of the campus, Forth and Fifth grade will pick up on the south carpool line. Monday and Tuesday are student holidays according to the Olton ISD calendar. Breakfast and Lunch can be picked up in the elementary drop off line from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday.
All Extracurricular activities are cancelled through Tuesday, October 13th. The school will make an announcement Tuesday evening on future plans.
