Morton ISD Releases COVID-19 Update

Morton ISD Superintendent Karen Saunders has released an update on COVID-19 cases in the district as well as reminders concerning upcoming important dates.

Morton ISD reminds parents and students that Friday, October 9th is a student holiday and a professional development day for staff, their will be no remote learning on Friday. Monday, October 12th is also a student and staff holiday, classes resume as normal on Tuesday, October 13th.

The district has also announced that they have three additional staff members, who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are all quarantining as required. The district has also identified anyone they believe to have been in close contact with those staff members and have requested, they quarantine as well. The district also currently has 18 quarantined students who will return to school between the 13th and the 15th of October.

The district reminds all parents, students and staff to monitor their health and any student or staff member with a temperature greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, loss of taste of smell, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, fatigue or headache or other symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your physician and notify the school district of any positive test.
