Levelland Police Arrest Juvenile For Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief

Levelland Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Hickory Thursday night in regards to a Children’s Hope juvenile on top of a storage building.

When police arrived they found Childrens Hope staff attempting to get a juvenile off of a storage building, they reportedly had been working to get the juvenile down for over an hour. Staff reported that they had two juveniles at a nearby park when the juveniles fled from staff. Staff was able to get one juvenile in a van, the second juvenile ran into the back yard of a residence and climbed on top of a building.

Levelland police notified the fire department to respond to the area with a ladder. Police gained permission from the homeowner at 304 Hickory to go in the back yard. The juvenile repeatedly ignored commands to come off the roof and then jumped across to the storage shed roof in the back of 306 Hickory. The juvenile then began ripping shingles off the roof and ignored commands of officers to stop. The officer had to climb the ladder and use minimal force to take the juvenile into custody on the roof and with the assistance of the fireman forcibly carried her down to another officer who placed her in the patrol unit.

The juvenile was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, search or transport and criminal mischief less than $750 and criminal trespassing. Following being processed, she was released to Children’s Hope staff.
