One person was indicted by a Hockley County Grand Jury on a charge of arson. Chandler Trey McKay, 21 was charged with arson causing bodily injury or death.
The indictment states that on or about, March 11th, McKay started a fire or explosion by using gasoline. The fire was at the former West Texas Grill at 201 Houston Street. One person suffered serious injuries in the fire.
The building is the former Bounty Inn. The owner of the building is currently in the process of demolishing the building following the fire. McKay was listed as the owner of the West Texas Grill.
The Grand Jury also returned an indictment for murder on Brennon Guerra, 24. He was charged with knowingly causing the death of Anthony Delgado on May 2nd. He was also indicted in a second count of committing an act dangerous to human life causing the death of an individual. He remains in the Hockley County Jail, charged with murder, theft of a firearm and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. He is being held on a combined bond of $210,000.
