Texas Governor Greg Abbott has released information on re-opening the economy. His plan indicates the plan to re-open in phases.
Phase I will start on Friday, May 1st….
- Restaurants, shopping malls and movie theaters can re-open with a limit of 25% of their stated occupancy.
- The food courts and kids play areas in shopping malls must remain closed.
- Museums and Libraries may open on Friday, however they are subject to the 25% limit of stated occupancy.
Also, part of Phase I involves any county with less than 5 confirmed cases of COVID-19 may open with the limitation of 50% of stated occupancy. This would have to be certified by the County Judge.
Bars, gyms and hair and nail salons must remain closed. The Governor has said that Phase I will last atleast 2 weeks and he will re-evaluate and announce plans for Phase 2 around May 18th.
