Stolen Vehicle Located By Police Before It is Reported Stolen

The Levelland Police Department investigators are currently investigating a stolen vehicle. Officers took a report from two victims that reported a 1997 Blue Chevrolet Pickup had been stolen on Wednesday, January 29th from the 100 Block of Badger. While police was taking the report, they were notified by a Hockley County Sheriff’s Office Deputy who had located the vehicle in the 2300 Block of Sunrise Lane.

The two victims provided the names of at least three different suspects that could have taken the pickup. It was noted that the pickup would not run and would have to be towed. Victims also stated that a number of tools in a toolbox in the pickup was also stolen. The victims provided a written statement to police.

An on call wrecker was dispatched to tow the vehicle to the police department lot so police could inventory and process the vehicle. When the vehicle arrived at the police department, officers observed multiple windows to the vehicle had been broken and the steering column had also been broken. The Criminal Investigations Division of the Levelland Police Department is currently investigating the case.
