Levelland Police Make Arrest for Assault/Family Violence

Levelland police were dispatched to the 400 block of 10th Street on Sunday at approximately 9:40 am for an Assault in progress.

When police arrived the suspect was outside the residence. The victim told officers that the suspect had become upset with her because she would not go to Abilene with him. The victim advised that the suspect was ready to leave and she went out to get her daughter’s car seat out of the car and the suspect became irate because she had closed the door of the residence so their dog would not get out. The victim then said that as the male suspect was packing to leave, he grabbed a bag belonging to her and when she asked for it, he hit her in the face shoving her up against a wall.

Due to the evidence, police arrested the suspect, Zachary Ross Womack, 31 for Assault/Family Violence and Unlawful Restraint. A 48 hour hold was placed on him due to violence. It was noted in the report that he had two previous convictions of Assault causing bodily injury.
