Littlefield Police have confirmed that a staff member of Littlefield ISD is under investigation by their department for an incident. They are working with the Texas Rangers in the investigation.
Littlefield police said they were notified of the incident by parents who called in upset as well as several posts circulating on social media. They noted they were not notified by the school district.
Littlefield ISD Superintendent Robert Dillard issued a statement Thursday night stating that Littlefield ISD received information Tuesday evening that a Littlefield ISD staff member may have engaged in conduct with a student that violated district policies. The employee was immediately placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the allegations. At this time, the district is currently continuing its investigation into the matter and is cooperating fully with state and local law enforcement in their investigation. Once the district investigation is complete, the district will immediately take action based on their findings.
Dillard went on to say, student safety is paramount at Littlefield ISD and administration will take any and all necessary action to ensure student safety. State and Federal law prohibit the release of personnel information, thus Littefield ISD has no further comment.
