Levelland Police Respond to a Fight in Progress and Make Arrest

Levelland Police officers responded to a fight in progress in the 1600 Block of Houston Street on Sunday afternoon.

Prior to officers arriving, the suspect was reported to be running through the alley behind the property. Officers located the subject running from the scene and stopped him. The suspect did not follow initial commands to stop and an officer drew his taser and ordered the subject to the ground. The subject then complied with officers commands.

Reports indicate that the subject stated he and his brother was having an argument and his brother shoved him. The subject stated he was not injured, he further said that his brother threatened to call police and that’s when the subject fled the scene. After further investigation, Bacilio Olivas, 42 was found to have outstanding warrants and was arrested on a warrant for assault/family violence out of Williamson county. He was transported to the Hockley County Jail without incident.

The Levelland Police Criminal Investigation Division will further investigate the case for an offense of assault/family violence.
