Levelland Police officers were called to the 200 block of Avenue D for the report of a suspicious person in the alley. The reporting party stated that a Red Ford Bronco was parked in the alley behind the house. They reported the bronco had been parked there since early in the morning.
Police officers located the Ford Bronco in the alley with a male subject outside of the vehicle. Officers also located a broken meth pipe on the hood of the vehicle. The subject told police that he had ran out of gas and had been there since early in the morning. The subject did consent to the search of the vehicle. An officer located nunchucks during the search of the vehicle, nothing else illegal was found in the vehicle. Another officer performed a pat down of the suspect and located a small amount of a white crystal like substance.
Officers then arrested Vincente Herrera, 47 for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He was transported to the Hockley County Jail without incident. He is currently being held on a combined $4,000 bond.
