The Levelland Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Friday morning near the intersection of Sunrise Lane and County Road. Firefighters were called at just after 10:00 am. When they arrived a single wide trailer house was fully engulfed in flames. Witnesses reported a female victim had gotten out of the house through a window. She was transported to Covenant Hospital Levelland and later flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock for treatment of serious injuries.
Firefighters saved a house to the west of the trailer house and fully extinguished the original blaze. They were back at the station in approximately two hours.
The investigation in to the blaze is now underway with the Levelland Fire Marshall’s office.
Firefighters also responded to the Children’s Hope facility in the 1300 block of West Washington at just after 2:00 am on Saturday morning. Firefighters responded to a call from the alarm company who stated the fire alarm was going off at the facility. Firefighters responded and made contact with an employee on site and checked the building, however, no fire was found.
Firefighters also responded to a fire in the 2000 block of Harvard in Levelland Saturday morning around 10:15 am Saturday morning for a minor structure fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and damages were very minor, listed at approximately $100.
