Levelland Police was notified by a resident that one of their employees had video evidence of narcotics inside a Levelland residence. Police then made contact with the employee who reported his girlfriend had the narcotics inside a residence in the 300 block of Pecan Street in Levelland. The employee advised, he would allow police to enter the home. Both the employee and police went to the residence, the suspect was at the residence and allowed police inside. The suspect also allowed officers to search the home.
The suspect cooperated with the investigation. The suspect led two officers into a bedroom in the home, she then handed them her purse and consented to officers searching the purse. An officer located a plastic bag with a crystal like substance, identified as methamphetamine. Officers asked the suspect about the substance, and she because upset, claiming she was framed.
The suspect, identified as Rosita Escarcega was arrested and charged with a a possession of a controlled substance and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. She is also being held on a parole violation. Bond has been set at a combined $15,000.
The boyfriend filed a written statement with police and provided the video evidence to police. A Detective was called to the residence and completed an in-depth search of the residence. Officers also located a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue on it underneath a mattress.
