Levelland Police responded to 200 block of 11th Street in reference to an assault on Monday night, at approximately 6:15 pm.
When officers arrived a female subject was observed by officers to have a scratch on the left side of her face and on her chest area. The female stated to officers that she had come to the property because her son owed her money. She also advised that he was driving a vehicle that was in her name and he needed to have insurance on the vehicle. She then stated that the fight moved inside the residence owned by her son. The female suspect noted that she received the scratches from the son’s wife. The suspect stated that she did walk toward the wife of her son and hit her hand out of the way. The suspect advised that her son’s wife was “coming at her” and she simply was defending her self and pushed her to the couch. The suspect then stated her son was trying to separate the two, but also stated that he was holding her while his wife was hitting her.
Officers then went inside the residence to speak with the son and his wife. The son stated that his mother came over wanting her money, which he did not have. Officers noted multiple bruises and redness to the face of the female in the residence. The son advised that his mother barged in the residence, unannounced. He stated he asked her to leave, which she did not do. He then reported that his mother had rushed at his wife on the couch and began punching her in the head, he then stated he had to pull his mother off of his wife. His wife told officers that he was only trying to keep his mother off of her. Both individuals stated they would file charges and provided a statement to police. Officers placed the suspect, Alma Perez, 43 of Morton under arrest. She was transported to the Hockley County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, with intent to commit a felony and Assault.
