The Levelland Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance at the Childrens Hope facility on West Washington on Sunday afternoon.
Levelland Police responded to the Childrens Hope at approximately 7:25 pm on Sunday to a disturbance. According to reports a juvenile female was being aggressive and had attacked a staff member.
The program director met officers at the facility and advised the officers they were having problems with a juvenile female who had recently assaulted staff members. Officers entered the facility and the bedroom where the juvenile was located. According to the report, the juvenile was being physically restrained on the floor by two staff members. One of the staff members advised officers that the juvenile had kicked her in the mouth causing injury and had scratched her arm. The staff member said they would file charges for assault. The officer contacted the on duty Juvenile Probation Officer who refused to take the juvenile into custody at that time.
The juvenile also claimed an injury and officers contacted EMS. EMS responded, however, treatment was refused.
Officers will turn the case over to the Criminal Investigations Division of the department to review for possible charges of assault against the juvenile.
