Levelland Police responded to two separate reports of assault this past weekend.
On Friday afternoon officers responded to a local law office in regards to an assault which had previously occurred. Officers met with a victim that stated he had to get out of a relationship before the suspect killed him. A friend who was with the suspect advised that the victim and suspect were in a relationship. They advised that the suspect had been drugging the victim and not allowing him to take his diabetic medications. The victim had a black eye as noted in the report. The victim advised the suspect had thrown him or chased him out of a room when he caught her with another male subject.
Officers questioned the victim numerous times, if the suspect had physically assaulted him. He stated that that the suspect had pushed him and he went “flying” out of the room. A written statement was provided to officers including the suspects name.
An investigation is ongoing.
In a separate case on Sunday officers were called to the 1600 Block of 9th Street in the alley way in reference to an assault. Dispatchers advised that a victim had been struck in the head with a shove. Levelland EMS was dispatched to the scene as well. Officers located the victim when they arrived. The victim was transported to Covenant Hospital Levelland by EMS for treatment.
Officers also went to the ER. while at the ER an EMT stated to the hospital staff that the victim had stated he had been stabbed with a switchblade in his right arm. Officers did observe two lacerations on his right forearm. The victim received treatment for a laceration on his forehead and a laceration on his right arm. No further injuries were reported. The victim was not able to talk to police according to the report.
