City of Levelland Receives Grant for Infrastructure Improvements at Rail Park–LEDC Announces New Business Coming to Rail Park

The City of Levelland has received a grant for $625,000 from the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Texas Community Development Block Grant Program with assistance from the South Plains Association of Governments. The grant is earmarked for infrastructure construction and improvements at the Levelland Industrial Rail Park. The grant was key in attracting food safety and water quality giant Enviro Tech Chemical Services to the Levelland Industrial Rail Park.

Levelland EDC Director, David Rushing, said “We couldn’t be more thrilled with this partnership.” Enviro Tech is making a $5 million capital imvestment in this operation and will create at least 25 jobs in the first year. “Our City, LEDC, and SPAG staff have worked hard on this,” said Elgin Conner, President of the Levelland Economic Development Corporation. “This grant will result in considerable capital investment in the Rail Park and new job creation for our workforce. Both of those things line up with our 2026 Strategic Plan.”

Enviro Tech is expected to start construction on the multi-million dollar facility this summer.
