Levelland ISD Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday evening.
Trustees approved a joint contract between Hockley County, Levelland ISD and City of Levelland for the joint election to be held on May 4th. The agreement was approved was little discussion.
Trustees also approved the hiring of several people to fill various vacant positions in the district for 2019-2020 school year. The following new hires were approved:
Morgan McAlister, 2nd Grade at South Elementary
Susan Draper, Music at Capitol Elementary
Rebecca Luna, 3rd Grade at Capitol Elementary
Cristal Vidales, 4th Grade Math at Intermediate
Haley Weems, 6th Grade English and Language Arts at Middle School
Jimmi Johnson, 6th Grade English and Language Arts at Middle School
Casey Critchfield, Diagnostician with SPECO
Kara Williamson, Speech Language Pathologist Assistant with SPECO
Julie Turnbow, English and Language Arts and Girls Athletics at Middle School
Trustees also received a report on various Personnel matters including:
Retirements of James Cavitt from Manufacturing Technology at the High School and Emma Morales from 2nd Grade at Capitol Elementary.
The following Change of Assignments was made by administration recently. Yesenia Maldonado will move from Bus Aide to Bus Driver in the Transportation Department. Cecelia McCord will move 3rd grade to 2nd grade effective with the next school year at South Elementary and Jordin Newman will move from 2nd grade to 3rd grade at South Elementary. Skyla Maddox was recently hired as a Life Skills Teaching Assistant at South Elementary. Trustees also met in Executive Session for approximately 15 minutes, no action was taken following the closed meeting and the meeting was adjourned.
