Levelland Legacy Award Presented to Longtime Downtown Levelland Business

The Levelland Main Street program presented the Levelland Legacy Award to Brock’s Carpet on Friday at the Volunteer Appreciation luncheon.

The Levelland Legacy Award Program recognizes the accomplishments of
businesses and organizations within the defined Main Street area that have
enhanced the city’s economy for at least 20 years. Created in 2018, by the
Levelland Main Street Program to celebrate 20 years as a Texas Main Street City,
the program pays tribute to the city’s well-established businesses and
organizations and their exceptional historical and continued contributions toward
the Levelland Square’s economic growth and prosperity.

Kirk Bock began laying carpet for Stacy Mason Furniture in 1977. After working
for them for several years and with the closing of the furniture store, Kirk decided
to open Brock’s Carpet in 1980, where they are located to this day. Initially, his
Mother Gail Brock worked with him and his Father Jerry would join them upon his
retirement from farming. Kirk, Gail and Jerry worked together to provide quality,
caring service for many years. After the last of his children started school in 1996,
Beverly joined them at Brock’s Carpet where they continued to offer the best
products and service. Gail retired in 2007 and Jerry followed by retiring 2009.
Upon graduation from Texas Tech University, Kwail joined Kirk and Beverly.
Brock’s Carpet has always been a very family-oriented business as other family
members have assisted when needed throughout the years. They continue to
offer the same caring and dedicated service and has become a very trusted name
in the flooring business throughout this area. When considering this business for
this award, we kept hearing how much of an asset these business owners are to
our community.
