The Levelland Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors met Friday afternoon in a brief meeting.
The Board of Directors reviewed the monthly financial report. It was noted that rail traffic was down just slightly in the month of February. Sales tax collections for the Levelland EDC continues to be strong. The collections are running ahead of last years record collections.
Following a brief executive session the Levelland EDC Board of Directors took action to approve $140,000 in incentives for Kurt Martin and CleanCo of Levelland. The incentives will be applied toward the purchase of the speculative building on Avenue H in Levelland. The building was recently approved for sale to CleanCo by the Levelland Development Foundation which owned the building at a total sales price of $315,000 minus the incentives. The incentives will be applied as a first lien on the property by the Levelland EDC for a period of two years. The lien will be released as long as CleanCo maintains 75 employees for the two years. CleanCo will be moving their operation into the city limits and expanding their operation.
The EDC also discussed other economic development negotiations while in executive session, however, no action was taken.
