Hockley County Attorney Files Court Petition for Removal of Constable

The Hockley County Attorney has filed a court petition for removal of Hockley County Constable for Precinct 5.

The petition is calling for the removal of Michael Lance Scott as Constable for Precinct 5. The court document says the Texas Local Government Code provides for the removal of a constable from office for incompetency, official misconduct or intoxication.

Scott was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in November, 2018 in Hockley County and was arrested again in January for Assault Family Violence, Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication. He was arrested in early March, after he was indicted by a Hockley County Grand Jury on a charge of stalking and abuse of official capacity.

Scott was elected as Hockley County Constable in 2012, his term ends December 31st, 2020.
