A Levelland Police officer on routine patrol in downtown Levelland on Wednesday morning discovered the break in around 5:30 am at the downtown jewelry store. Officers entered the building and cleared the building. It was noted that a kettle ball weight was found inside the building, police say it was used to break the front door glass and then was used to break the glass on a display case inside the building where the suspect reportedly stole an undetermined amount of jewelry. Police also say that Sanchez may possibly be involved in the break in of the jewelry store on Friday, October 19th, when a brick was thrown through a outside glass of a front display case, an undetermined amount of jewelry was also taken in that case. Currently Sanchez has only been charged with one of the occurrences. Police have also said that they received surveillance footage from Wal-Mart in Levelland and was able to identify Sanchez as walking out of the store with a ball weight without paying.
This case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Levelland Police Department.
