All of our area marching bands participated in the UIL Regional Marching Contest at Lowrey Field in Lubbock on Saturday.
Bands in District 2A, 4A and 6A were competing for the chance to advance to the UIL Area Marching Contest to be held on Saturday, October 27th.
In Region 16 1A competition, Crosbyton, Ropes and Whiteface bands received a division one rating while Jayton, O’Donnell, Springlake-Earth and Spur received a two. Morton received a third division rating.
In Region 16 2A competition, Sundown, Ralls, Seagraves, Tahoka, New Deal, Post, Farwell and Hale Center all received a first division rating. Smyer, Sudan, Lockney, Olton, Plains and Floydada received a division 2 while Bovina received a division 3.
In 3A competition, Littlefield, Shallowater, Roosevelt, Abernathy, Brownfield and Idalou all received a Division 1. Slaton, Muleshoe and Denver City received a division 2.
In 4A competition, Seminole and Lamesa received a first division while Levelland and Estacado received a second division.
In 5A competition, Lubbock Coronado, Lubbock High, Lubbock Cooper and Plainview all received a division one while Lubbock Monterey received a division two.
In 6A competition, Frenship received a first division rating.
Since this is an even numbered year, bands in 2A, 4A and 6A who received a Division One will advance to the Area Marching Competition on Saturday, October 27th.
Sundown, Seagraves, Ralls, New Deal, Post, Farwell, Hale Center and Tahoka bands will compete in the 2A Area Competition at Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo. Seminole and Lamesa bands will compete in the 4A Area Competition at Lowrey Field in Lubbock and Frenship will compete in the 6A Area Competition at Ratliff Field in Odessa.
