Levelland ISD Student Arrested in First Week for Drug Possession

10306479_825500670877069_1946972718073611415_nA Levelland High School student was arrested last week for possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram in a drug free zone.

According to police reports, four rows of vehicles on the west end of the student parking lot was inspected using a police K-9.  There was five vehicles which gave a positive alert.  One of those vehicles was a Chevrolet Silverado pickup.  A search of the pickup was conducted and five plastic bags containing a white residue was located.  The student told police, the bags contained cocaine, but they were from April according to reports.  An officer used a field test kit and the bags tested positive for the presence of cocaine.

The 17 year old was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, of less than one gram in a drug free zone.  Bond was set at $2,500. He remains in the Hockley County Jail.

The other four vehicles were also searched but yielded no results which were concerning to law enforcement.
