The Hockley County Sheriff’s Office investigators continue their investigation into a case involving narcotics and stolen vehicles. They are working in conjunction with the Auto Theft Task Force on the case which is out of Anton in northern Hockley County.
It all started when deputies received a call of an ongoing assault at a residence in Anton in mid June. Deputies responded and met with Jimmy Jiminez, 48 of Anton. Reports indicate during a consensual search of the property, deputies discovered a quantity of narcotics in plain view. Due to this observation deputies secured a search warrant for the property and returned for a full search. During the search they recovered an amount of methamphetamine, numerous firearms, including three that were stolen and two vehicles that appeared to have been dismantled.
The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the South Plains Auto Theft Task Force in investigating the two vehicles which had been reported as stolen.
Jiminez was arrested and charged in relation to the stolen vehicles. He bonded out of the Hockley County Jail on bonds totaling $2,500.
Hockley County Sheriff Ray Scifres said this is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are expected.
