The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents met recently and authorized Texas Tech President Dr. Lawrence Schovanec to execute an agreement with the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation relating to the proposed Tech School of Vetinary Medicine.
The regents’ vote came after an executive session as part of the board’s regular two day meeting in Lubbock. The Amarillo EDC has pledged up to $69 million toward the completion of the $90 million veterinary medicine facility. After the regent’s vote, the college President said “This is a very big step in moving forward with plans.”
The Amarillo City Council voted unanimously to authorize the EDC to enter into an amended Local Incentives Agreement.
