Caprock Winery in Lubbock has announced a new partnership with Hockley County Vineyard Owner, Steve Newsom.  Newsom will now be the majority stakeholder in the company.

In a statement released by Caprock on Thursday, “this is one of the biggest announcements in the history of Texas wine.”  They went on to say, “We are unveiling a game changing revelation in how wine is made in the state of Texas.”

The English family, who owns the winery currently, usually leases out the production facility side.  After several discussions with Newsom since late 2017, they have decided to partner with him, not only in the production side, but for the whole business.

Newsom has vineyards in Hockley County and sells his grapes to wineries all over the state, he will now grow the grapes for Caprock Winery.  He remains a partner in Trilogy Cellars in downtown Levelland.

Caprock Winery was started in 1988.
