Lubbock Police made an arrest Tuesday morning in a case of child enticement from a school earlier this month.
The arrest warrant served on Rosa Linda Serna, 33 of Lubbock accused her of enticement of a child from a Wolfforth Elementary After School program on March 1st. Police reports indicate that Serna arrived at the school on March 1st and told school officials she was the mother of two girls who were playing on the playground. While school officials were working to confirm she was authorized to take the two girls, Serna reportedly grabbed the two girls by their arms and left. School officials immediately notified the children’s father who only lived a few blocks away, he reportedly saw Serna with his children and confronted her. He was able to get the children back and took them home, however, Serna followed him and kept saying she was his wife’s sister. She fled the scene when he called police.
Reports indicate both Serna and the father of two children called police. Police stated that Serna was confused and it was hard to understand her during the call. Police said she appreared to have been on narcotics or in need of a mental evaluation.
Serna was arrested at a Lubbock residence on Tuesday and is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
