Lubbock Police Looking for Help in Locating Suspect in Attempted Kidnapping

Lubbock PoliceLubbock Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in an attempted kidnapping.

Lubbock police responded to a residence on 62nd street on Sunday at around 8:30 pm.  Reports indicate that a male subject had just attempted to kidnap a 20 year old female resident of the home.  Officers were told the male suspect knocked on the door and claimed there was a water leak at the home. When the female walked outside to check on the leak, the male subject grabbed the female and began to hit her multiple times. Officers were advised the suspect attempted to drag the female way from the home. The victim was able to kick free from the suspect and ran into the home to call police.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that the male suspect had been to the residence a few days earlier asking for help in locating a missing dog, however, the residents did not come out of the house that time.

The suspect has not been located.  He is described as a hispanic male, 30 to 40 years old, standing approximately 5′ 7″ tall and weighing approximately 250 pounds.
