All Clear Given at Levelland Middle School Following Bomb Threat

File Feb 22, 2 48 09 PMTwo bomb threats in as many days on a Levelland ISD campus.

Levelland ISD officials and area law enforcement said that a hand written note was found Thursday morning around 11:20 am at an undisclosed location inside the Levelland Middle School.  School officials made the decision immediately for the safety of students, staff and faculty to evacuate the building to the Levelland ABC campus.  All students and staff were moved within minutes to the ABC campus.  The district kept students at the ABC campus until an all clear was given by authorities.

The Lubbock County Bomb Squad sent two K-9 units to the school.  They thoroughly went through the campus, nothing was found and an clear was given at approximately 2:05 pm.  According to Middle School Principal Brad Clanton, classes resumed this afternoon.  Law Enforcement authorities reportedly gathered evidence at the middle school and the investigation remains active with the Levelland Police Department.

Levelland ISD Superintendent Jeff Northern said that the district must take all of these threats seriously and will work with law enforcement to thoroughly investigate and will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
