AMARILLO, TX:  Amarillo Police are investigating a shooting at a park in east Amarillo on Tuesday afternoon.  The shooting left a 17 year old injured.  Police say they received a call of shots fired at the park around 3:05pm.  Officers found a 17 year old with a gunshot wound to the upper shoulder.  They were transported by ambulance to the hospital.  No arrests have been made, the park is located near an Elementary School.

HARTLEY COUNTY, TX:  Two juveniles are now in custody of the Youth Center of the High Plains following a charge of arson in connection with several fires over the weekend in Hartley County in the Texas Panhandle.  The Hartley County Sheriff’s office said they are confident that all parties have now been arrested.  They thanked the Dalhart Fire Department, Harley Fire Department and Dallam/Hartley County Juvenile Probation office for their assistance in this investigation.

DUMAS, TX:  The Texas Northwestern Railway recently landed Crop Production Services as it’s anchor tenant for their new 580 acre Panhandle Logistics Park.  The park is the region’s hub for rail car storage, development and transportation services.  The company recently broke ground at the park and will begin offering agricultural products and services in early 2018.

MERKEL, TX:  A Merkel ISD student is accused of making threats to bring a firearm to school according to the Merkel Police Department.  Police said their was no threat to any Merkel ISD campus.  Police and Merkel ISD said they both take these threats very seriously.  A statement from police said “In the event a threat does exist there are measures in place to secure all students and staff and to notify all parents.
