Denver City High School Given All Clear following Bomb Threat

Denver City High SchoolDenver City High School has received an all clear following a bomb threat coming into the school by social media this morning.  According to a statement from Denver City ISD the threat was made on social media this morning around 8:00am.

Denver City Police in cooperation with Yoakum County Sheriff’s Office all students, faculty and staff of the high school was evacuated off campus to a gym.  All students were picked up by parents by noon.  The all clear was given around 3:00pm Thursday afternoon.  Lubbock County Police Department bomb squad and Denver City Police performed a sweep of the buildings and found no explosives of any kind.  A suspect was taken in to custody after being questioned by authorities.

Denver City ISD said classes for all students will resume at 8:00am Friday morning.  They also would like to thank all first responders who responded quickly to the call this morning and helped to evacuate everyone in a timely and orderly fashion.
