Levelland Fire Department Fights Structure Fire Thursday Night


Levelland Fire Department crews responded to a fire in the 1300 block of fifth street in Levelland.  According to the fire department reports, the call came in at just after 11pm Thursday night.  An occupant in the home reported smelling smoke when he went to the attic to investigate.

When firefighters arrived on the scene smoke could be seen coming from the vents in the attic and roof.  Fire crews used a thermal imaging camera to locate the source of the fire.  Crews had to remove the ceiling of the home to extinguish the blaze.  No one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
