One Person in Jail, Three with Injuries Following Tuesday Accident

letstalkThe Levelland Police Department continues to investigate a traffic accident from Tuesday evening.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 114 and 385 in Levelland at just after 5pm.

According to police reports, 40 year old Joshua Taylor of Levelland was traveling east on Highway 114 and ran into the back of a vehicle driven by 27 year old Stephanie Smith of Levelland, before proceeding through the intersection and hitting a utility pole on the northeast corner of the intersection.  Following an on-scene investigation, Taylor was arrested and charged with Intoxication Assault with a Motor Vehicle.  According to the Hockley County Jail Roster, as of Wednesday afternoon he is held on a $10,000 bond charged with Intoxication Assault and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

The collision with Smith’s vehicle caused a chain reaction crash with other vehicles. Three people were transported to Covenant Health in Levelland with minor injures.

The investigation into the accident continues with the Levelland Police Department.
