City of Levelland Recognizes Volunteers who Serve on Volunteer Boards

The City of Levelland and the Levelland Main Street program held the first annual Volunteer Appreciation luncheon in Levelland on Friday.  The event recognized the many volunteers who serve on the many advisory boards appointed by the City Council.  Their are a total of 11 advisory boards with over 65 volunteer members.

During the event the Main Street program recognized their board members and presented the Main Street Hero Award to Shelby Lewis, owner and operator of “The Dandy Lion” located in downtown Levelland.








The Main Street program also started a new award this year in memory of the late George R. Keeling.  The award will recognize someone who has contributed countless volunteer hours to the Main Street program.  For the inaugural award it was presented posthumously to George Keeling.  His wife, Iris Keeling and daughter, Alycyn Keeling accepted the award on his behalf.

The city also recognized the administrative professionals that assist in the various departments in the City of Levelland.
