Traffic Stop leads to Recovery of Stolen Car and Various ID Items

10306479_825500670877069_1946972718073611415_nLevelland Police on routine patrol, made a traffic stop and located a stolen vehicle and over 100 pieces of identifying items.

After running the license plate on the silver Infiniti I-30 car, officers were advised those license plates belonged to a 1985 pickup.  It was confirmed by the Lubbock Police Department that the Infiniti had been stolen out of Lubbock.

The driver, Patricio Vela, was arrested and remains in the Hockley County Jail on multiple charges including, fraudulent use/possession of identifying items, two separate charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license with prior convictions plus three warrants out of Lubbock county.  He is being held on a total of $18,000 bond.  The passenger, Sandra Ocampo,  which provided false identity to the officer on the scene was arrested on two charges of possession of a controlled substance, fraudulent use and possession of identifying information, failure to identify and providing false information.  She is being held on $15,500 bond.

Police officers report after a search of the car they located numerous checkbooks belonging to various individuals, vehicle title belonging to someone else, various bank forms belonging to various individuals, along with multiple drivers license, social security cards, and ID cards belonging to multiple individuals.  Officers said there were approximately 125 different pieces of identifying information belonging to approximately 32 different individuals.
