Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest and Seizure of Drugs and Firearm

10306479_825500670877069_1946972718073611415_nOfficers with the Levelland Police Department made a traffic stop early Monday morning in the 1100 block of fifth street for a traffic violation.

As officers approached the vehicle the subject fled on foot.  He was apprehended a short time later.  The individual was said to be in possession of a large amount of narcotics, as well as a handgun.  He was arrested and charged with multiple felony charges.  He was booked into the Hockley County Jail.

The subject, Martin Gaona is being held on a total $30 thousand bond on charges of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, unlawfully carrying a weapon, evading arrest and possession of marijuana.  He had only bonded out of the Hockley County Jail 9 days earlier on another drug charge.
