Hockley County Jail Passes Annual State Inspection

hockley-county-sheriffs-officeHockley County Sheriff, Ray Scifres has announced that the Hockley County Jail had its annual jail inspection from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on Wednesday, March 1.  The inspection was unannounced, and the jail was found to be in compliance and passed the inspection.

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards requires annual inspection in a number of categories ranging from safety standards and building maintenance, to policy and inmate care.

Sheriff Scifres, said “We are pleased to pass our annual inspection.  Our staff, including Captain Cliff Robinson, should be proud of the continuing work they do and their efforts to operate a professional facility.  I commend all our staff for their hard work and thank them for their dedication to continually working to improve our professional standards.”

This is the first jail inspection since Sheriff Scifres took office January 1, 2017.
