The Hockley County Sheriff’s Office has issued the activity report for Wednesday.
-Hwy 114 at Veretto Rd: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash with injury at the intersection. Deputies assisted with traffic control and remained on scene until the roadway was clear.
-FM 2646 at Deer Rd: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to the area to look for a reported suspicious vehicle. The area was searched by multiple deputies and no vehicle matching the description was located.
-FM 2130 at Colorado Rd: Theft. A deputy responded to a scene related to copper theft. It was reported that multiple locations were stripped of copper wiring. A report was taken and an investigation is ongoing.
-100 blk Slaughter, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. A deputy assisted a Sundown officer at a traffic stop.
-4000 blk Leon Rd: Fire. A deputy was dispatched to the area to assist with a reported fire. Cotton piles were located and the Anton Fire Department responded.
-FM 597 at Onion Shed Rd, Anton: Fire. A deputy observed heavy smoke crossing the roadway and located another fire. The property owner was on scene and reported he was cleaning the field and it was a controlled burn. Anton Fire Department responded to the burn.
-1800 blk FM 1490: Burglary Vehicle. A deputy responded to a reported vehicle burglary. Several items were taken and a report was completed.
-Hwy 114 at Sherman, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist an officer with a reported disruptive person in the area. The individual was located and left the area.
-100 blk Pine, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with a second disturbance. The individual was contacted and left the area.
Their are 42 inmates in the Hockley County Jail as of February 9 with 32 inmates being housed out of county.
