A Levelland Animal Control Officer suffered injuries Wednesday morning and was transported to the hospital.
Captain Duane Rust told KLVT News this morning that Crystal Howard, an animal control officer for the city was west bound on Highway 114 and was preparing to turn onto Hulon Moreland road when a black SUV pulled onto the highway from Hulon Moreland road and collided with the Animal Control Vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the animal control vehicle to roll end over end. Howard suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at Covenant Hospital in Levelland.
Both vehicles suffered major damage. There were no animals in the Animal Control vehicle at the time of the accident.
The cause of the accident has not been released as of yet. It remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
