Hockley County Sheriff Ray Scifres has issued the Sheriff’s Office Activity Report for Tuesday and Wednesday, January 24-25, 2017.
-1310 Avenue H (LEC): Civil Complaint. A deputy met with a complainant about a civil issue at the LC. Civil remedies were advised.
-1310 Avenue H (LEC): Phone Complaint. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a possible phone scam. The caller was given details about what to avoid and tips to spot a scammer.
-FM 303 at Sundown City Limit (North): Agency Assist. Deputies assisted with a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Sundown. Deputies provided assistance at the scene until the roadway was cleared. One person was transported by EMS to a local hospital.
-Foster Rd at US 62/82: Follow-Up. Deputies followed up on a traffic complaint about large trucks in the area, and provided a patrol to observed traffic.
-100 blk Lawrence, Anton: Welfare Check. Deputies were dispatched to check the status of an individual at a residence in the area.
-FM 168 at Hwy 114, Smyer: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to assist a motorist in the area. Help was provided.
-6400 blk US Hwy 84, Anton: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to check status of an individual in the area.
-FM 1490 at Monaco Rd: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to the area to attempt to locate loose livestock.
-100 blk Avenue X, Levelland: Deputies assisted the Levelland Police Department Officers in a pursuit after a suspect fled from an attempted traffic stop by the Levelland PD in a possibly stolen vehicle. One person was arrested and taken into custody by the Levelland PD and the investigation is ongoing.
-2000 blk West Houston: Suspicious Person. A resident requested deputies search the area of her residence related to a possible person in the area. A search was conducted and no one was located.
-1310 Avenue H (LEC): Property Release. Deputies released recovered stolen property to the victim.
-Hwy 385 near Monaco Rd, Whittharral: Loose Livestock. Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate loose livestock in the area.
-3400 blk FM 168, Ropesville: Harassment. A deputy met with a complainant in reference to a possible harassment report. It was determined the offense occurred in Lubbock and the complainant was referred to the appropriate agency for the report.
Deputies also conducted follow-up investigations, close patrols/vacation watches, motor vehicle stops, served civil process, and routine patrols around the county.
He also reported their are currently 50 inmates in the Hockley County Jail. 34 Inmates are currently being housed out of county.
