Hockley County Sheriff Ray Scifres has released the activity report for the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office for Friday, January 20-Sunday, January 22.
-100 blk McKinley, Smyer: Juvenile Complaint. Deputies received a complaint of a truant juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned to the school.
-1310 Avenue H: Jail Assist. Deputies were requested to assist with an inmate issue. Issue was resolved without incident.
-100 blk Lawrence, Anton: Suspicious Activity. Deputies were dispatched to the area regarding vehicle parked in front of a business. The area was checked and no issues were located.
-1310 Avenue H: Civil Complaint. A deputy met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center about a possible theft issue. It was determined to be a civil matter and no criminal offense occurred. Civil remedies were advised.
-1310 Avenue H: Warrant Service. A deputy arrested an individual for active warrants. He was booked into the jail without incident.
-100 blk Horse Rd: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area in reference to loose horses. When the deputy arrived he was informed the horses were secured by the owner.
-400 blk Ranch St, Ropesville: A deputy was dispatched to the area in reference to suspicious activity. A caller advised he observed an individual around his residence. A deputy met with the complainant and the area was checked. No signs of property damage, tampering, of any criminal offenses were observed.
-100 blk Crestview, Levalland: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate a female subject from Lubbock. The caller advised he believed her to be in the area. The area was checked, including a residence, and she was not located. The caller was advised to contact proper authorities with any further information.
-Hwy 114 at Richmond Rd: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a motor vehicle accident. The scene was released to Texas Highway Patrol.
-1400 blk Avenue H, Levelland: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a funeral escort.
-3900 blk Sunrise Ln: Civil Complaint. A deputy assisted a resident with a civil standby, and further civil remedies were advised.
-140 blk Avenue H, Levelland: Agency Assist. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a funeral escort.
-3800 blk Hwy 385: Arrest. A deputy conducted a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. The driver was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid and transported to the jail without incident.
-100 blk York, Sundown: Agency Assist. Deputies were dispatched to assist Sundown Police Department officers following a vehicle pursuit. Officers and deputies searched the area and the driver was located and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the jail by Sundown PD and booked without incident.
-US Hwy 84 near Anton: Reckless Driver. Deputies were notified of a possible reckless driver on the highway. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.
-3700 blk N. Barton Ln: Assault. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in reference to an assault that occurred. The suspect was not on scene at the time. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.
-400 blk W. 8th St, Anton: Theft. A deputy was notified of a possible stolen dog. The caller later advised the deputy the dog had been returned and no report was wanted.
-800 blk E. Hwy 114: Civil Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area to speak with a landowner about damage to his property. All parties were contact and it was determined to be a civil matter. Civil remedies were advised to all parties involved.
-6800 blk E. Hwy 114: Animal Complaint. Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a loose dog. The dog was located and the owner was contacted. The dog was secured by the owner.
-Alamo Rd at Hwy 114, Levelland: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to assist when a load being carried became unsecured. The load was secured and cleared the roadway.
-Hwy 84 at King Rd, Anton: Motorist Assist. A deputy checked welfare of the occupants of a vehicle stopped along the highway. No issues existed and the driver left the area.
-Caribou Rd at Chalk Hill Rd: Suspicious Vehicle. Deputies checked on a vehicle parked along the roadway in the area. The vehicle was later removed by the owner.
He also reported that their are currently 50 inmates in the Hockley County Jail, 2 inmates in holding and 34 are being housed out of county.
