Hockley County Sheriff’s Office Issues Activity Report

hockley-county-sheriffs-officeHockley County Sheriff Ray Scifres has issued the Sheriff’s Office Activity Report for this past weekend from January 13-16.

The deputies responded to a call of a verbal disturbance near West Avenue and 5th Street.  Deputies checked the area, however the individuals were gone when officers arrived.

Deputies also made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Cedar in Levelland.  The driver was arrested for Driving With and Invalid License and transported to the Hockley County Jail.

Deputies also made a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Ellis.  Two of the occupants in the vehicle were arrested for charges of Possession of a Controlled substance and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.  Both were transported to the Hockley County Jail.

Deputies are also investigating 2 burglaries.  One from the 800 block of Wills Street in Sundown and the other from the 3200 Block of FM 300.

On Monday, January 16–Deputies were called to assist the Sundown Police Department in the 100 block of East 3rd Street on a disturbance.

Deputies also conducted close patrols and vacation watches at various locations.  They also followed up on criminal investigations and served civil papers.

The jail population was reported as of January 17 to be 52 inmates in the Hockley County Jail with 26 inmates being housed out of county.
