The Levelland Fire Department responded to a trash truck fire Monday morning just south of 226 Brentwood at approximately 11:25am.

A Republic Services truck was emptying dumpsters in the alley behind the 300 block of Brentwood and was traveling down a county road to the 200 block when trash in the truck caught fire.  Fire crews used foam to suppress the fire and a City front end loader was also called to the scene.  Once the fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes, the truck was escorted by the fire department to a location outside of the city limits to empty the truck.  No one was injured in the blaze.

The investigation is ongoing.
