OSHA Working on Investigation in Levelland

osha-logo-department-of-laborThe Occupational Safety and Health Administration has confirmed they are working on an investigation at the construction site for the new Atmos Energy offices on East Highway 114 in Levelland.

Levelland Police reported in October that emergency crews were called to the site in reference to a deceased body.  A Hockley County Justice of the Peace did not order an autopsy and said the death was due to natural causes.  Reports indicated that an employee at the scene had been working with Rodney Stevens on a portion of the building and both had exited the building to get tools.  Both were employees of Mechanical Partners Inc. with corporate offices in Dallas.  The employee said he was away from Stevens for approximately 10 minutes and returned to find Stevens laying unresponsive on a lift.  The employee started CPR until emergency crews could arrive.  The JP said that the cause of death was medically induced, possibly a heart attack.

OSHA said their is an open investigation at the site, however no further information can be released at this time.
